Help care for the park Austin loves
Your support helps Zilker 351 advance ecological stewardship, community care, and welcoming public access across 351 acres of Zilker Metropolitan Park.
A park this loved needs care that lasts.
Austin Parks and Recreation manages and operates the park. Zilker 351's role is different: we help neighbors, donors, and community members turn their love for Zilker into stewardship that supports ecology, access, and community care.
That work matters because the park is not just scenery. It is shade on hot days, habitat for native plants and wildlife, creek edges tied to water quality, open lawns and trails, and a shared civic space where Austinites of many ages and backgrounds meet the city outdoors.
Ecological stewardship and access belong together
Zilker's natural systems and public life depend on one another. Supporting both helps the park remain healthy, welcoming, and resilient for current and future generations.
Ecology needs steady care
Tree canopy, native plants, creek edges, soil, and water quality are all connected. Thoughtful stewardship helps the park stay resilient as Austin grows and use of the park increases.
Access is part of stewardship
A healthy park should also feel welcoming. Supporting access means helping people understand, enjoy, and care for Zilker while keeping the public character of the park at the center.
Community support turns care into action
Donations and volunteer energy help move stewardship from good intentions to practical work: plantings, restoration, education, coordination, and the patient follow-through a civic place requires.
Your support helps make room for practical, place-based work: more shade and native planting, better understanding of the park's ecology, volunteer opportunities when they are available, and communication that helps people take part with care.
Pick the door that fits you
Whether you give, volunteer, learn, or simply stay in touch, there are meaningful ways to take part in Zilker's future.
